The Jabra Enhance Select app is designed to empower individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss by providing a seamless, user-friendly way to control and personalize their hearing experience.
To name just a few adjustments, the app lets users:
- Switch between 4 different environments tailored for different places or situations, such as quiet settings, restaurants, or outdoor spaces.
- Adjust volume independently for each ear.
- Fine-tune treble and bass to match personal preferences.
- Reduce background noise and enhance speech clarity with adjustable settings.
- Check connection status and battery levels for the left and the right hearing aid.
Wondering how often you need to use the app to adjust your sound quality? Most customers choose to use the All Around listening environment with the sound equalizer set to Standard in most listening situations. That's because your hearing aids have a lot of advanced settings under the hood that are working all the time to provide you with clear, balanced sound no matter what physical environment you're actually in. But, if you're someone who likes to explore your options, read on!
Using listening environments

The app displays your 4 environments that come out-of-the-box. To choose an environment, you can tap on the icon for that environment or swipe the screen to the next environment.

All Around:
Think of this environment as your “home base.” It’s versatile and works well for both simple and complex listening situations. It automatically searches for the most optimal speech signal in your environment.

Restaurant:
This program offers forward facing, directional microphones to better help you focus on speech in front of you and minimize the amplification of sounds behind you. Try it out at family dinners, work meetings, or on a date night.

Music:
Use this to preserve and enjoy the richness of music around you. Try it when you’re at a live performance or while you watch a musical on TV.

Outdoor:
This program helps to reduce wind noise when you are outside and other sounds, like road noise in the car. This is great at helping optimize a conversation while driving and improve your listening comfort when outdoors.
Adjusting programming and volume

Settings: Manage all of your programming needs here. For example, this is where you can request a remote adjustment from our Audiology Team if you have access to their services. It's also where you'll find your programming type, and our M Series customers can find and retake the self-tuning test here. You'll also find Presets here, which are overall adjustments to your sound quality that can provide more fullness or clarity. Learn more about how to find the best preset for you.

Volume:
Adjust the volume using the center sliding bar on the hear controls screen. Tap the down arrow to adjust the left and right hearing aids separately and set the volume to your comfort level.
Volume will always be at 50% when the hearing aids startup, and this is where our Audiology Team recommends staying most of the time. Don’t worry - this doesn’t mean you are only getting 50% of what you should be. Visibly, this is just an easy place to begin each day when you open the app.
Using sound equalizer & quick actions
Sound equalizer can be found on your Hear tab (on the same screen as your volume). Sound equalizer is where you can make adjustments to low, mid, and high pitches rather than just overall volume. It's also where you'll find your 4 quick actions, which are like sound filters that come preloaded for you plus one filter you can create yourself. You can only have 1 quick action turned on at any given time.
Your 4 quick actions are:
Standard: Think of standard as your “go to.” Our Audiology Team recommends keeping your hearing aids set to standard and only switching out of it if you need extra help in certain situations. Why? Standard already has all of your programming built-in and adapts to your surroundings so it's rare that you'll need to use something else.

Speech clarity: You can turn this filter on for specific situations where you need a bit more crispness and clarity than your standard settings. This could be anytime you're struggling to hear women's voices, children's voices, dialogue on TV, or just want a bit of a boost in your high pitches. Keep in mind that turning speech clarity on can sometimes increase your chance of hearing a whistling or buzzing sound. If that's the case for you, go back to standard.

Noise filter: Think of this filter as a quick way to reduce annoying noise around you like lawn mowers, loud traffic, or wind noise. Keep in mind that using noise filter turns down all pitches by a little bit overall. So, don't forget to go back to standard once you're done using noise filter.

Custom filter: This is your opportunity to create a custom filter of your own to quickly turn on in certain situations.
How? When you're on sound equalizer, use your finger to move the bass, middle, and treble options up or down. Moving down means reducing how much of that pitch you hear. Moving up means increasing how much of that pitch you hear. Bass pitches provide richness and fullness, treble pitches provide crispness and clarity, and middle pitches do a little of both. Once you've moved them to your liking, tap Save. This filter will then show up as Custom filter. You'll then be able to turn it on just like all of your other filters.
Want to reset your custom filter so you can save a different sound setting? Tap Reset. This will clear your existing custom filter so you can create a new one.

Checking hearing aid battery and connection status

Below the listening environments, you can find the connection status on the left and the battery status on the right.
Connection Status:
Two hearing aid icons are located in the top left corner of your controls. The colored dot beneath them shows their status: green for connected, red for disconnected, and yellow for attempting to connect.

Shows that both hearing aids are successfully connected to the app.

Shows that the left hearing aid is not connected to the app but the right hearing aid is connected.
It may be an issue with the connection itself or with the hearing aid not functioning properly.
Battery Status:

On the right corner you will find the battery Indicator. This will give you the % of battery life you have on the hearing aid with the lowest battery.

If you use the drop down arrow next to that, it will show you the battery life of each hearing aid
individually.
