Setting up Jabra Enhance hearing aids for a loved one:

A guide for family members, friends, companions, and more

First, thank you! Your support can make all the difference.
Follow this guide to make sure they have a seamless setup and get the most out of their hearing aids.

1. Make sure the account info is correct

Accurate account details are essential. That’s because the email address you used when purchasing the hearing aids will be used to log in to the Jabra Enhance Select account, app and how our Audiology and Customer Support Teams communicate with you.

  • The name on the account should be the wearer’s.
  • Also use the wearer’s email address and phone number, unless you’re managing the account for them.

Need to update the account info? Head to My Account to update anytime.

If you plan to manage their account for them, we’ll need written HIPAA consent from the wearer.

Without HIPAA consent, you can:

  • Order supplies and accessories
  • Schedule or reschedule appointments
  • Get troubleshooting guidance

With HIPAA consent, you can also:

  • Discuss hearing aid settings and performance
  • Manage account or warranty details
  • Authorize returns or exchanges

To provide consent, please have the wearer complete the HIPAA Authorization Form (PDF)  and return it by emailing support@jabraenhance.com from the primary email address listed on the account.

3. Make sure they can join appointments

We use Zoom for all appointments. For Zoom setup help, follow these instructions

To join an appointment, the wearer will need:

  • A desktop or mobile device with audio and video
  • A stable internet connection
  • The hearing aids and all supplies from their kit

To use the app, the wearer will need:

Note: It’s possible to use the hearing aids without the app. However, the app is required to install any programming updates from our Audiology Team.

4. Help them take the test & schedule the Orientation

  • Help them take the online hearing test or submit a copy of their latest in-person hearing test.
  • Schedule their Orientation. During this video appointment, they’ll meet their licensed hearing professional, get answers to any questions, and get professional sound quality adjustments.

5. Help them hear well

Regular cleaning, consistent use, and good communication are the keys to success.

Remind them to:

And, you can remember to:

  • Get their attention before speaking
  • Reduce noise before speaking (turn down the tv before trying to have a conversation)
  • Rephrase instead of repeat (people with hearing loss struggle with certain speech sounds - try using a different word or phrase instead of repeating the same one)
  • Come closer before speaking (no matter how loud you speak, they will struggle to hear you clearly if you’re turned away or speaking from a distance)

Helping someone adjust to hearing aids takes patience, but your involvement and consistent support can make all the difference. We’re here to support you and your loved one every step of the way — from setup to daily success. Contact us anytime for help.
