Hi, how can we help?

How to customize your hearing aids - for customers with the Basic plan

If you bought our Basic plan — meaning you do not have access to our licensed hearing professionals — there’s plenty you can do on your own. The Jabra Enhance Select app makes it super easy to make adjustments with just a few taps.

The app comes pre-loaded with three helpful hearing Presets that can help add richness and clarity to your hearing aids. We recommend trying each one and seeing which sounds best.  You can even hear a sample from each before applying them across your hearing aids.

  • Normal: A great starting point and our default programming, Normal is designed to help  you hear speech better, while still hearing all the sounds around you.
  • Clearer: Clearer is close to Normal, but with added crispness and high frequency boost  for enhanced speech clarity
  • Fuller: Fuller has more balance and a fuller sound than both Normal and Clearer,  perfect for those who need help with overall loudness.  Fuller comes with a low frequency boost to add depth to overall sound.

How to find and change a hearing Preset:

  1. Tap the gear box in the app on the top right of your screen on the Hear tab, taking you to Hearing Aid settings.
  2. Tap “Change Profile” to listen to the different profiles
  3. Select the one you want to try
  4. Tap “Save Changes”

Enviroments

In addition to being able to adjust volume and equalizer settings (boosting and reducing bass, middle, treble) your hearing aids come with four different hearing Environments designed to optimize hearing in different enviroments:

  • All Around: this has built-in noise reduction. This helps ensure you’re only hearing the most important sounds, filtering out background noise. People find this is good for most situations.
  • Restaurant: in a noisy environment like a restaurant, this has even more noise reduction. While it’s good for four people or fewer, it will help most with whoever is closest to you at the table.
  • Music:  is great for hearing something at a distance because it has no noise reduction. So think an orchestra or a play on stage.  Pro tip: You don’t just have to use “Music” for music. If you’re in a quiet space and you want to hear someone far away, use “Music” settings.  TV is also best with the Music program.
  • Outdoors:  cuts down on windy situations, like being in a car with the windows up or walking on a windy city street.  “Outdoor” is smart: it actually looks for the consistent noise that is too loud — like wind —and reduces the overall sound of it. We call that wind guard. “Outdoor” also has 360-degree mic functionality to help you hear in all directions. As a driver, you want to be able to hear sounds from all around you.

You can access all of them in the app or change them using the physical buttons on the hearing aids. Press the push button on your hearing aid for 1-2 seconds to switch from one program to the next. Your hearing aids will beep to confirm the change.

The number of beeps indicates which program you have selected:

  • All Around: 1 beep
  • Restaurant: 2 beeps
  • Music: 3 beeps
  • Outdoors: 4 beeps
