To ensure the best sound quality and a long-lasting experience, regular cleaning and care are essential. Here's why:
- A clean hearing aid delivers richer, clearer sound.
- Cleanliness ensures your hearing aid performs at its best.
- Dirt and debris are common causes of low or no sound.
Our audiology team recommends cleaning your hearing aids daily to remove wax, moisture, and debris. Remember: Avoid moisture—never submerge your hearing aids in water or use wet wipes to clean them.
What You’ll Need:
- A clean, dry cloth or tissue
- A soft brush (often provided with your hearing aids)
- A wax guard or filter replacement tool (if applicable)
Watch our step-by-step video guide or follow the instructions below to keep your hearing aids in top condition.
Step by Step Instructions:
- Use the cleaning cloth to wipe down the outer casing of the hearing aid. Avoid using water, cleaning agents, or alcohol as they can damage the device.
- Clean the Receiver or Microphone Ports gently using the provided soft brush to remove any dirt or debris from the microphone and receiver ports. Avoid pushing debris into the ports; tilt the hearing aid downward so particles fall away during brushing.
- Check and Replace Wax Guards (if applicable) by removing the dome (if your hearing aids have one) and inspect the wax guard. If the wax guard is clogged, use the replacement tool to swap it out for a new one. Follow the specific instructions provided with your hearing aids for replacing wax guards.
Make sure to apply cosmetics, perfume, after-shave, hairspray, lotions etc. before putting on your hearing aids. These products can damage or discolour your hearing aids.
