Hi, how can we help?

How to measure your ear for the correct receiver wire length

Table of Contents

Everyone's ears are different and measuring the correct receiver wire length is important for ensuring comfort and optimal sound performance.

Signs your receiver wire may be the wrong size:

  • Too short:  the hearing aid pulls or doesn’t sit comfortably behind your ear.
  • Too long: the wire is loose, creating a gap or allowing the hearing aid to move around.

All of our hearing aids come with receiver wires in Size 2, which is the most common size but we are able to provide four different sizes on request.

How to measure your ears

What you need:
The Ear Measuring Tool that is supplied with your Jabra Enhance box. The tool has two sides: use the red side out to measure the right ear, and the blue side out, for the left ear.

  1. Remove the hearing aids from your ears or glasses if you wear them.
  2. Slide the straight edge over the top of your ear, like a pair of glasses. Make sure the tool remains straight while measuring.
  3.  Take two photos, with your face parallel to the camera, not on the side please.
    1. For the right ear, use the red side of the tool and take a photo.
    2. For the left ear, use the blue side of the tool and take a photo.
  4.  Send your two photos to our Customer Support team via email or chat, with a short description of what's going on.

Our team will review the two images to determine if a different size is needed, depending on which number on the measuring tool aligns the best with the top of the cartilage. If a different size is needed, our team will send you a new size and you will receive an email with the shipping confirmation. This process may take 3 to 7 business days.
