Hi, how can we help?

Finding your comfortable hearing aid fit

Properly fitting your hearing aids is crucial for good sound quality, comfort, and security.

A good fit ensures the receiver wires and domes deliver sound effectively.
Whether you’re going for a jog or just going to dinner, a proper fit also ensures they are comfortable and stay in place.

If you're new to hearing aids, you may need a few days to adjust to wearing them. However, consistent use is key to hearing important sounds and getting the most out of your hearing aids.

If your hearing aids don't fit well, try our tips below to ensure a comfortable and effective fit.

Tips to find your comfortable fit:

Putting them on properly:
Place the body of the hearing device on the upper back portion of your ear. Once it is stable, you can more easily place the dome within your ear.

Hold your hearing aid by the receiver wire (red = right ear; blue = left ear), and rest it on the back of your ear.

Place the dome in your ear, and place the wire so that it follows the natural curve of your ear canal. You may need to push the bend of the wire with your finger until it rests securely on your ear. The wire should run along the shape of your ear and rest against your head.

Trying different dome sizes:

Discomfort, swelling, or soreness? Your domes might not fit properly. Avoid loose fits to prevent losing the hearing aid.

Ears come in different shapes and sizes and so do domes. Your kit includes a variety of 3 dome styles and sizes, and we encourage you to try different domes until you find the one that is right for you.

Checking receiver wire length:

A hearing aid receiver wire is the thin, flexible wire that connects the hearing aid receiver (speaker) to the hearing aid device.

If you are still experiencing any discomfort, take them out and give us a call.
If the receiver wire doesn’t quite fit, for example, feels like it’s pinching, or seems too loose, you may need a new size.
