After updating to iOS 27, you may see a "Connected" notification from your hearing aids on your iPhone more often than you'd like. This comes from a new Apple feature. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with your hearing aids, and it doesn't affect how they sound or perform.
What you may notice
- A banner at the top of your iPhone screen or lock screen that reads "[Your name]'s Hearing Aids – Connected"
- The notification may appear several times a day, including when your hearing aids are in their charging case
Why this is happening
Apple's newest operating system (iOS 27) added a feature called MFi Connection Updates, which alerts you when your hearing aids connect to your iPhone or transfer their connection to another device. Apple controls this notification, and our hearing aids can't change how or when it appears.
How to confirm your hearing aids are working normally
- On your iPhone, open Settings.
- Tap Accessibility, then Hearing Devices.
- Check that your hearing aids are listed as Connected.
If they show as connected, they're working as expected and the notification is simply Apple's alert.
What to expect
At this time, there is no known setting to turn off these notifications, and Apple hasn't announced a fix. Re-pairing your hearing aids is not expected to stop the notification from appearing, so we don't recommend unpairing and re-pairing for this issue alone. We'll update this article if any fixes are found or announced.
Let Apple know
If the notifications are bothering you, you can send feedback to Apple through Apple Support or the Feedback Assistant app on your iPhone. Customer feedback helps Apple prioritize improvements.
