From listening to music to hopping on Zoom calls for work, there’s so many reasons why you’d want to connect your hearing aids directly to your computer via Bluetooth. In some instances, you can connect directly! We'll cover that below. In others, it's best to use an accessory like the Multi Mic+ to connect. Why?
The first reason is that Bluetooth comes in more than one variety: Our hearing aids use a specific type of Bluetooth that isn’t compatible with most computers. Why do we use it? Because it's the best kind to use for preserving the battery life of your hearing aids while also delivering great audio quality. The other reason connecting directly to a computer is difficult is because of microchips. Many computers use microchips that aren't directly compatible with Jabra Enhance Select hearing aids. There are some exceptions where you may be able to connect your hearing aids directly - particularly if you're using a Mac computer. For information on specific models of Mac that are compatible and steps for connecting, check out this guide.
The easiest way to connect to your computer? It's by using the Multi Mic+! With the Multi Mic+ you can connect via the computer’s headphone jack — so no Bluetooth pairing is necessary. You can listen to music on Spotify, watch shows, or join meetings. But note: the Multi Mic+ will not stream audio back to the computer. So if you’re in a Zoom meeting for example, you would use the computer’s mic to pick up your own voice so that your colleagues hear you. Keep in mind that with a Multi Mic+, you're getting more than just access to computer audio. You can also hand the Multi Mic+ to a friend or loved one at dinner or in the car and have them clip it on. Their voice will be streamed directly into your hearing aids so you can hear it clearly through any background noise.
