How and when to clean your hearing aids

To make sure your hearing aids perform and sound their best for years, adopting a cleaning routine is essential. Here's why:

  • A clean hearing aid delivers richer, clearer sound.
  • Cleanliness ensures your hearing aid performs at its best.
  • Dirt and debris are common causes of low or no sound.

Our Audiology Team recommends a quick daily clean and a deeper clean once a month. But, things like how much ear wax you produce, where you work, how active you are outdoors, or how much you sweat can affect how often you might need to clean. Pro tip? Avoid moisture. Humidity, sweat, and rain can build up over time so we recommend using desiccant packs like this or an electric drying kit like this to keep them moisture-free.

To clean, you'll need the tools provided in your kit:

  • Cleaning cloth
  • Cleaning brush
  • Replacement wax guards
  • Replacement domes
  • Replacement microphone filters (if applicable)
